Airplane Mode.

Updated: Feb 9

This month I traveled to Las Vegas for a work conference and it was amazing!

I love flying, I find it to be very peaceful as long as I have a good book, playlist, and charged headphones. This flight however, was nothing of the sort. It was a straight flight which was great, however I couldn’t get comfortable enough to even sleep for 20 minutes. I lay my head on the food tray to nap and the person in front of me is constantly moving every mil-second, no dramatizing. I don’t know if they were doing it on purpose, was uncomfortable in their seat, or what but I began to get upset. I had been up since 3 am that day and simply wanted rest and couldn’t.

Once I sat up in my seat I started to relate this experience to my health and wellness journey. My journey won’t always be smooth sailing, there will be instances and people that I encounter that will test my strength, patience, and mind set. During that flight I realized that complaining and getting myself bent out of shape was going to be a waste of energy, and my energy is precious these days. Yes I was spent and wanted to get rest just like everyone else, but that just wasn’t meant for me on that flight.

Instead I decided to get some work done for Soul Health Chronicles and my personal life.

You can still get things done, even on airplane mode.

When you’re in a situation and things aren’t ideal, use your energy to focus on the positive in that circumstance. No matter what. There is a positive in every situation, the negatives tend to try to overshadow it, but you don’t have to allow it.

As always, work on becoming the best version of yourself. You are your only competition!
