Love Thy Self.
This has become a lifestyle for me, it helps keep me focused on ME. It is so easy to get lost in our own shuffle. When you make time for yourself, on a daily basis, the payoff is beautiful. It’s an investment that I should have made in myself a long time ago, but it’s never too late or a bad time to refocus and love thy self. Today is as good a day as any!
I challenge you to give yourself an hour a day to just feel good and make a change to a healthy lifestyle, the benefits are remarkable! Whether you take a walk, enjoy a book, read the bible or workout! On this journey, I choose to take an hour a day to just quiet my mind, body, and spirit to give back to me. I take the time to exercise because it gives me so much more than health and wellness; it gives me confidence in myself it allows me to listen to my body and make the necessary adjustments in my life to deal with stress, family, bills. Just the everyday things that can try to bring your spirit down!
I have found myself in a place of such peace that it’s hard to put into words. I knew I was overweight, I might not have "looked" like it to people but I knew my health was declining. My blood pressure was rising along with the scale and I knew I had to get a hold on things ASAP, food being one of them.
I remember waking up to crumbs of Lays chips in my bed after a late night binge and I thought "Why can’t I just eat a handful and be done with it?" but at the time my mind was not ready and I hadn't learned or understood portion control or meal prepping. Now that I do I can enjoy a handful of chips and whatever I want and be satisfied just as if I had a full bag!
The mind must be in tuned with the body when you are on any journey in life.
When I began my journey to a better self I would walk at first, then I got Shaun T and would work out in my room because the gym was an intimating place. I would lose a couple pounds, gain them back, then I decided to take it seriously and get to know food. That’s when I began to meal prep, work out consistently, and walaaaaaah I got results! I had to learn that I am the only person in control of what goes in my body, and in order to succeed I had to mentally control what I was eating because before there was no control. I simply ate what I wanted and when I wanted.
I began to love myself not for vanity purposes but for longevity!
So embrace yourself! Love thy Self! There will be ups and downs, it won’t be easy, but baby when I tell you it is the best thing you can do for yourself! I know because I did it and it has truly changed my life! I am confident, motivated, my spirit is peaceful and I am in one of the happiest places I have ever been in my life! Like I said wish I would have begun this journey a long time ago!
Put YOU first, get to know yourself and what you need to succeed, be selfish! The benefits are well worth it and it will be the best thing you ever did and the best version of you will shine bright like a diamond!
