A different type of crunch


Snacks. Snacks. Snacks. Some snacks I swear are praying on my downfall, looking all good and reasonably priced. You know when coworkers or your boss brings in donuts and delicious pastries for a morning meeting? Or when your at a holiday party and the dessert tray is just calling your name. How can you resist, they look so good! And that first bite, man oh man!


You would think I am in a bakery writing this blog right now. But seriously, snacking used be the enemy for me. I would snack throughout the night, wake up out my sleep and snack, and throughout the day before every meal. Just crunching on food hard as hell!

Once I started this lifestyle ( www.soulhealthchronicles.com ) I began working out routinely but didn't see the results I wanted, mainly from what I was snacking on. But, once I changed the types of snacks I ate and stopped eating late night, while continuing to workout, I started to reach my health and wellness goals! Now I still love chips, chocolate, donuts, cakes, cookies, snickers, and many many more, but I'm just on a different type of crunch these days!


Below are some of my favorite go to snacks that are budget friendly, oh so good and I really enjoy them!

1. apples, apples, and apples with a side of apples

2. rice cakes w/almond butter and bananas

3. blueberries w/granola and honey mixed in

4. pretzels & peanut butter

5. celery & peanut butter

6. toast with avocado

7. Greek yogurt with granola and honey mixed in

8. carrots & humus

9.peanut butter by the spoonful (this might just be a Shawnte' thing)

10. peppers (roasted or fresh out the fridge)

11. sweet potatoes (sprinkle cinnamon and honey on them and BAM!)

12. Canned fruit

Do you see the plethora of options ya'll, just a different type of crunch!

Your health and wellness journey is yours, make it how you want because what works for others will not necessarily work for you. Try not to put too much pressure on yourself, remember to make it fun and more of a lifestyle; something that you enjoy rather than it feeling like a duty or a chore.

As always, work on becoming the best version of yourself, you are your only competition!
